Champions Krav Maga Academy was founded in 2022 by Max McGregor, 2nd Dan Black Belt under Gendai-Ryu Krav Maga & Jiu-Jitsu, and a former member of the Australian Defence Force. It is designed to teach self-defence in a realistic and practical manner. CKMA teaches self-defence so people can be safe, confident, and have the ability to protect themselves and others. Gendai-Ryu translates to “Modern System” and has adopted a multidisciplinary training approach by integrating multiple martial arts together, forming a Mixed Modern Combatives system to create a versatile, well-rounded and effective version of Modern Krav Maga. Gendai-Ryu Krav Maga & Jiu-Jitsu’s head of system is Dr. Gavriel Schneider, a 7th Degree Black Belt who is one of Australia’s most experienced self defence instructors, with a PhD in best practice use of force and defensive tactics training methodology. This Modern Krav Maga approach enables us to draw from a variety of proven martial arts systems and integrate the best self-defence techniques into our curriculum. Because there are no rules, mats, or referees in real life situations, we train with a realistic mindset. Over the past two decades, Gendai-Ryu Krav Maga & Jiu-Jitsu have been tested by military, police, specialised security and everyday people hundreds of time. It has been credited for saving many lives.
